Is it just me or does there seem to a lot of pressure to be happy all the time?
What if we aren't meant to be happy all the time? We were created with a myraid of emotions, each one with a purpose. What if we are meant to walk through whatever emotion we do have and this what will ultimately lead to an overall happy life?
It just seems like all the bad stuff we do to try to be happy (and maybe even some of the good stuff) really doesn't make us happy. It just suppresses the emotions we think are bad because they aren't happy.
What if we aren't meant to be happy all the time? We were created with a myriad of emotions, each one with a purpose. By being able to express all our emotions in healthy and timely ways, our happiness becomes more real and lasting. And I find that when I am pretending to be happy when I am not feeling it, I get tired more easily. It's exhausting to pretend to be happy!
Be you. Whatever that means at the moment. I think the more we can express whatever emotion is within us at the moment, the more real we are with ourselves and others, then we stand a greater chance of discovering true and lasting happiness.
